This is the moment gangs of youths shot fireworks at each other in front of terrified locals.
Dozens of young men wearing dark clothes can be seen running on the street on Alpha Grove, on the Isle of Dogs, on Saturday with fireworks going off just a few feet above them.
The youngsters were also seen carrying colourful balloons, which were reportedly filled with nitrous oxide, which is known as laughing gas.
One fearful resident, who filmed the terrifying incident, was forced to close their window out of fear of fireworks exploding inside their home.
Police officers and helicopters were reportedly dispatched to the scene.
After footage of the fireworks incident was shared on a local Facebook group, concerned locals said it wasn’t the first time youth had been shooting fireworks at each other this week.
‘These kids have been doing this for the last two days,’ one resident said, adding that some of these incidents even happened in broad daylight.
Another terrified woman who was outside when the youngsters started shooting fireworks at each other said: ‘They almost got me.’
